    Hi sir,

I did finish the question but I was trying to work out the std mix… I have also watched the lectures videos however in this example ratios were given… it is incorrect because I didn’t use the materials mix equation…

What would the equation be in this case for the standard mix?

Thanks so much for this sir.

Just out of curiosity are the old questions not worth doing? I found these questions at the back of the BPP study text…

    Hi sir…

I’ve found a way to do it e.g

    8a(r^3)=34.3
    8(12.5)((r^3)=34.3
    r=34.3/(8*12.5))^(1/3)
    =0.70

    Hi sir…
I figured it out… the ratio is the percentage of the actual quantity actual mix..
    e.g 30% of 6000…
I have watched your lectures but it was the ratios that was making me look at the question difficult.. I have never seen this material yield question like this before… I worked it out using the individual method and not the total… i got -800… I added the variances -6300+ 10000+ -4500= -800

Apologies but I’m still not getting that…

    9000/16×1,500=0.375

    I am putting 4 ?0.375 = 0.75 not 0.78
Even when I use the square root twice I’m not getting this figure..

    – attempt past papers… do them and do them again – I go over past papers a million times! I scour the internet for them.. quizzes and mock exams! It helps understand the meaning behind definitions and concepts.. look at the answers, read the examination marking..
    – try different methods of studying; watching YouTube videos, revision cards, going through the text books etc
    – the key is repetition… you will remember information and how to answer questions by memory..

ACCA accredited revisions books are very detailed but if you don’t mind a simplified version then forums like open tuition will be the best for you.. depends on what your learning style is..
