^ hi there. I self-studied the UK variant of P6. Passed it along with P4 and P2, all first attempts.

What I did was, I read the Emile Woolf text book. Found its language to be very precise and simple. The text is to-the-point, no unnecessary details.

I then practiced a few full exam papers.

    Goodluck!

@ sathjyot , Thankyou so much for your kind words! 🙂

So you will be taking P4 again this June? P4 is a tough exam! All the best for your June attempt! I really do hope you become a member after the June attempt!! 🙂

@ Richard, aah we got a common paper there! Im taking P7 as a post-qualification exam, along with the Pakistani (PKN) variant of the F6 exam.

Good luck to us , eh? 😉 Lets bury P7.

Nice to see that my post is actually helping people 🙂

@ Richard, Making this a religious post was certainly not my intention. I do request everyone to please take the essence of the post, and not point out small things.

    Regards.

Yeah, P4 was a very frustrating exam. I ended up spending almost 2 hours on question 1, it was a very lengthy, complicated question. I passed at first attempt though – albeit at 51%. So I guess I dont really care 😛

P6, I did a lil better. Scored 55% in it, studied it myself. The paper, on the “face of it” seemed VERY easy. People were actually searching for the complexity in it – for if you think youre doing it right and its too easy, youre most probably doing it WRONG.

Attempted P2 with self study aswell, passed it on a knife’s edge at 50%. The 4-page long group cash flow question was a night mare indeed!

    Affiliate now, couldnt be happier.

Hey Richard. Thanks a lot 🙂

I worked part – time at 3 charities throughout the week. Studied full-time the entirety of the final month in each session. I now work full time (9 – 5) at a construction company.

Agreed with above. P2 will become a mamoth task if you leave it for later. Use your F7 knowledge, and build on it!

Hey Estelle! Read this post so thought Id chip some words in 🙂

Im 21 and my mum is 46 . Mum has always been a house wife, but since she was 42, she decided to study. Although shes not pursuing the field of Accounting -she is studying for Islamic Studies- she has done her Masters and is now pursuing her M.Phil. She also wants to continue further and pursue a Doctorate in Comparative Religion.

My point is : you’re never too old to study and expand your knowledge 🙂

Very good luck for your exams! ^^
