    Because:-

Cost of Capital is WACC———–WACC is abbreviation of “Weighted Avg Cost of Capital”

Cost of Capital includes both 1) cost of equity and 2) cost of debt

So to calculate Cost of Capital (WACC) you will use 1) cost of equity and 2) cost of debt; in the WACC formula.

I know its prohibited to answer in Ask th Tutor section but, I have replied because exam is so near

    I was a student of Period 26 and I used 2010, 2011, 2012 and not interim statements.
Unless there is a new rule in OBU BSc Pack, you should be ok by working on 2011, 2012, 2013

    There are 2 parts:
Financial Analysis for which i used Ratio analysis (+Trends)
Business Analysis for which i used SWOT + PEST

    Its actually the word count!
Let me clear it, if we use too many ,models we will surpass the word limit however if we use a few models but research and write worth and good content, thats a PASS

Well, if u have studied SWOT and PEST and/or similar models, e.g in A levels, then u should definitely start IMMEDIATLY and if you have not studied them ever before then giving P3 will make researching for the RAP a whole lot easier!

I read pg. 37 or (pg. 40) of the info pack. You are correct that the Title and Table of content are not in Part 1,

however, all words except Appendices and Reference list are included in the word count 😀 thus Title and Table of content also.

Don’t worry, my Title + Table of content were larger so i compressed my table of content by writing like “Ratio analysis pg 12” instead of “Profitability ratios pg.13 Liquidity ratios pg.16 Investor ratios pg. 21”

Then after compressions like these, it became 140 words approx. only.

Try changing the sentences without losing their meanings like i showed right now.

Joelprof12, Title page and Table of content, in the word count, are included!

Its ONLY the appendices AND reference LIST which are NOT included in the word count. (2 things)

Also, words and numbers like 2000, in graphs and tables (inside your RAP) are included in the word count! –

Can you please tell me how much are your words in Part 1 + Part 2, together.

    Mine were Part 1 – 950 words, Part 2 – 1860 words, Part 3 – 4440 words
    Total RR 7240 words approx.

Can you please tell me how much are your words in Part 1 + Part 2, together?

Instead of (See Appendix A, Part D) if you write (Appendix A, Part D) you would save one word every time.

In Period 27 when i submitted my RAP i had 4 Appendices (4 .xls files):
Appendix A —– which contained some ratios
Appendix B —– which contained some other ratios
Appendix D —– which contained SOFP (balance sheets)
Appendix E —– which contained income statements

So may be instead of (Appendix A, Part D) you could write (Appendix D) or similar, thus you would save 2 words every time.

Also you don’t need to write it in your Reference list, you only need to cite, which you have done above.

Joelprof12………..i used Investopedia for my ratios and other accounting things………where i used Inverstopedia in my report………I put a reference using the MS Word Internal system…..and MS Word automatically showed like this (Investopedia, n.d.)…………………………..about definintion of ratios………………i wrote like one line definitions only, (((in my own words))), with reference to where i got the definition from (mostly Investopedia)…………………………………………….u know? some students have failed with the marker saying u have written to many direct quotations and NOT written them in your own words

Joelprof12………………any reason for not using MS Word INTERNAL referencing system……..its SUPER FAST and CORRECT……….I have passed my first attempt……….MS Word will automatically do this referencing by asking you like “fill in the blanks with date, author etc

Haider…………if u have a friend who is ACCA member, ICAEW member, they are easily eligible to be your mentor…..even then if u have doubt, then u can email their CV to OBU and they will tell if he is eligible to be your mentor……………………….mentor will just have 3 meetings with you and he will receive an email from OBU about you, to which he will reply something like, yes this is haider’s work……… its that easy…………about advices and queries…………OPENTUITION or EVEN google :))

So…………………..old rate was: 201,600 / 12 = 16800 per month, new rate is: 230,400 / 12 = 19200 per month…………………..Now, Financial year starts in May, 2008……….for May June, Moira has used rent at 16800 per month….then next 10 months, upto April 30, Moira used rent for 19200 per month……..so TOTAL expense is equal to = (16800 * 2) PLUS (19200 * 10) which equals to 225600…………….PREPAYMENT……….well Moira pays on 1 April for 3 months, so at end of April 2009, 2 months will still be UNused……and rate is 19200 per month as calculated above……so PREPAYMENT is equal to (19200 * 2) which is equal to 38400.

It will be very EASY and VISBLE if you make a TIMELINE
