Yup feeling the same. Passed one mock and failed my last one by 2% but really struggled with the paper yesterday. Also 3rd time sitting it. Done 2 exams last year self study and then stopped until now but I’ve been doing online classes since September

Crap, I took it that 225 was equal share and that there was 5 companies in total so I multiplied the 225 by 5 and worked off this figure

    Hi Kim

    I found this

    https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/sa/study-skills/options-choices.html

I had exemptions from the Applied Skills so its not really much use to me but might help someone else

Passed P3 on my 2nd attempt all by doing self study with Open Tuition. So happy I have saved my P1. Time to start thinking about P2 which I attempted 2 years ago but due to personal issues I had to stop. I think passing P3 is going to motivate me to keep going 🙂

Congrats to all who passed and to those who didn’t, keep going !! We all get there eventually

Trying to remember what I wrote but here is some of what I can remember

    Threat of buyers
I just spoke about the obesity issue and people looking to eat healthy. Also mentioned about the geographical area and the fact that people only really ate the food from that region

    Threat of new entrants
I just spoke about the % of the market and how hard it would be to get in due to the restaurants already there. Think there was something about the Government stopping new people but I cant remember

    Threat of Suppliers
I spoke about how the restaurants in the markets already have a hold over the farmers because they buy their produce and are involved with the factories that produce the likes of the burgers so they would find it hard to get companies willing to supply them.

    Rivalry
I went into detail about the restaurants and the food they do.

    Substitute’s
I mentioned that people might not go out and start to cook at home if they want to have a healthier lifestyle

I am the same. Resitting P3 as I got 46% in the March sitting. In my head I think I know the answer but when I go to write it down I struggle. I attempt the question but when I look at the answer I am like that’s what I wanted to say but they put it in such a better way. I am attempting a question every morning before work and all I am going to concentrate now on is questions, questions, questions 🙂

    Good luck

this was posted by a moderator in another post
PESTEL, SWOT, Porter’s 5 forces, Porter’s value chain, 6 Is, marketing mix (7 Ps), cultural web, POPIT all did not feature in March so you would expect some (but not all) of these to appear in June.

    Hi Sam,

Before the exam I used the Dino and SKANS Online Excel Webinars, OT Lectures and practised past questions.

During the exam I did a 25 mark question first, Q1 second and the final question, to keep me calm. With Q1 I worked backwards, starting with (d) and finishing with (a) so that I could get the easy marks. Finally my policy was: “if you write nothing, you get no marks”. I kept writing, hopping between questions, until the exam ended.

I used this approach for this paper and, to my surprise and relief, I passed. Keep on trying. There’s still time to pass in June.

    All the best!

Thanks, I had never heard of Dino until this morning. Think I need to put the head down and do a lot more questions. I had expected a lower mark of 46% but now that I got the 46% I’m sick that I didn’t get the paper finished and could have got marks elsewhere.

Thanks Anon39, I found the old ones on chinaacc yesterday and printed them all. I cant find anywhere in Ireland selling a revision book and the college where i studied before only provide for their students!!!

I’ll have to do a google search and see if I can get somewhere that will post to Ireland 🙂

Stress levels are very high at the moment so I need to practice as many questions as possible!!!

    Thanks

    Thanks Anon39

I have started at the questions at the weekend and understand what you mean about common sense and adding value.

    Fingers crossed 🙂

I have the ACCA guide to Business Analysis (P3) September 2017 to June 2018 and under summary of changes it states that there are no syllabus changes effective from September 2017 and the next update will be August 2018
