You’re a better student than I was. It took me 3 attempts to pass P5. I took the lazy route of never doing any mock exams and had loads of top tier tutors helping me out too…

I started another post for slackers like me to hopefully inspire more to pass ACCA.

It may well be worth a read to some. Im turning 40 too myself and do not look back at my past with too much fondness. Nonetheless, I still feel obliged to share especially as I am nowhere near elite enough to be a true mentor.

Over a hundred views on this post suggests there are Singaporean ACCA affiliates or members on this board. Next week many of you will be starting classes of Level 2-3 exams. Its a good time to print out technical articles if you havent done so. Use company printer its ok. I have seen tons of paper wasted on stupid print outs during my 16 years in this profession. The technical articles should be read on your way to work and will be way more useful than the invoices or whatever ‘support documents’ they tell you to ‘attach’ or file anyway.

Its advisable to arrive early and try to network before classes. I should have done so in retrospect. If you feel your current job is not conducive to studies perhaps do 1 paper at a time if level 3 and start looking around for a new job. Thats what I did. In fact I started a new job during covid because I had to make more time for my MSc thesis.

Be consistent, make sacrifices, minimize distractions to pass the exams. There is no easy street on any qualification worth pursuing.
