As always, thank you for your concise, relevant, and overall helpful response. And regarding AA, I was able to score a nationwide distinction in my country in march at 87% (i think i mistakenly mentioned 86% in my earlier post) but wasn’t able to score a global one, looking forward to acing AAA too with hard work and your guidance. 🙂

Thank you so much for the detailed response, and please forgive my ignorance, I thought I was on the right forum (ask the tutor one), I’m sorry if it caused any inconvenience.

So, in conclusion, the timing of the information being released does have an impact more or less but it cant be called deceiving since the processing of new information is very quick and the market will adjust the share price quite instantly making the so-called “deceiving” useless?

John, can you please elaborate on that?

And then can you please confirm if this is valid : the following is a answer to a question named “Phobis” in the kaplan kit :

The significance to a listed company of its shares being traded on a stock market
which is found to be semi?strong form efficient is that any information relating to the
company is quickly and accurately reflected in its share price. Managers will not be
able to deceive the market by the timing or presentation of new information, such as
annual reports or analysts’ briefings, since the market processes the information
quickly and accurately to produce fair prices. Managers should therefore simply
concentrate on making financial decisions that increase the wealth of shareholders.

I’m sorry for taking more time from you but to clear my concept if she was studying published statements (past information incorporated in share price) and the question would simply ask for the efficiency assumed by the investor, then it would be an inefficient market right?

Sir I still don’t get it, there’s a similar question in bpp :

Sarah decides to plot past share price movements to help spot patterns and create an
    investment strategy.
What does Sarah believe the stock market is?

The answer here is completely inefficient

Is the key here the wording?
