56%, the options are very hard to get good marks in, the papers seem to be ruthless at this level! Pass is a pass though!

52 marks, wooaahh that is close, thought i’d done alittle better maybe 55-60 but guess these options are probably the hardest which ever subject you choose.

56 for P7, all done now!

Hi everyone, well done on getting this far!!

I thought is was a fair exam in terms of content but tough in places due to the structure.

I struggled to grasp the TRF pricing element on Q1, I know how to do these questions normally but this was very tricky and not the clearest requirement compatred to previous years (EG Calculate the prices fro option 1 and option 2).

Can someone clear up if the requirement was a REPORT as I totally missed that!

Not surprised by the other Q’s as a non-financial measure was guaranteed plus some strategic elements from P3.

My technique that I do is get the unrelated theory elements done first (such as Q1 part d) as they are generally easier marks and you can waste alot of time on the calculations for not alot of marks. I think the split for this one was at least 60% discursive if not more.

    Fingers crossed 🙂

Overall there were no surprises for me in the paper. The examiner pointed out in a recent article that this style of requirement (re Q1 & 2) would be common. Just needed to approach it (Q1) like many other audit risk questions.

Q2 going concern is a topical issue and I thought a dead cert to be examined so no surprise.

Q3 for me is too time comsuming, so i done Q5 on groups (I practiced alot on these Q’s as groups is always fair game).

Q4 on due dillenge was my second option, I had a feeling this would come up as a form of non-audit assignment. There is also an article about this. This for me was the easiest question but alot of candidates appear to have been scared of by it, but there were (Or I hope) alot of easy marks for common sense.

OVERALL MY BIGGEST CONCERN WAS TIME PRESSURE. OVERAN ON Q1 AS I GOT MIXED UP WITH TIME MANAGEMENT BUT RECOVERED AT DONE A GOOD ATTEMPT TO ALL Q’S.

    Fingers crossed!

    @ I jah man

My statement was correct. These are the methods to gain audit evidence. If you would like a full text book statement then I suggest you read a text book….

The institutional investors question was not a technical one. It is a very topical issue as they hold over 50% of the shares in the FTSE 100.

Basically II’s traditionally dont get very involved with the Board, they have been passive even though they have significant influence potentially.

So referring to the exam II’s are more likely to ‘interven’ if:

    * The co has been poorly run
    * The co is not meeting CG standards (IE the CC)
    * Pressure from individual shareholders who the II fund represents
    * There has been corporate scandals or unethical behaviou (EG RBS)

This was not a clear area of the syllabus but it is not a difficult area for those that have a little understanding/interest.

I thought it was a hard paper. Bit dissapointed that SOCI came up as it is not that common. Although Kaplan AND BPP had it in there mock!!! And I didnt get round to attempting, damn!!

Q2 was definitely NOT about SME. It was not a current issue type question it was strictly an accounting issue.

Done okay on 2 and 4 but due to unfamilliarity with SOCI was a little clueless. Doubt I will pass but its all a good experience .

    P3 tomorrow.

You definitely do not get marked down for wrong answers.

Thought scenario questions were very tricky compared to previous and 1-7 fairly straight forward. Hope not lost too much on scenarios.

Open tuition very good on tips.

Bring on p2 and p3 (aarrrgghh)
