Im planning to take it in Sept 2024 too. I feel it would be nice to have a study buddy to discuss doubts and keep each other productive. Reply if you’re up!

    Hi,
i have a question on UK- TAX F6.

In the tax year 2023/24, Susie receives an employment income of £170,000. She made a gross gift aid donation of £10,000 in January 2024.
What is Susie’s income tax liability for the tax year 2023/24?

So it means that the final tax charged should be:
    £37,700 taxed at 20% = £7,540
    £112,300 taxed at 40% = £44,920
    £2,850 taxed at 45% = £1,283

Totalling up to an amount of £53,743

    Hey Mike

I had two weeks to get ready for the Global variation test that I took. I solely used the examinations and the lectures and mocks from Opentuition. I received a 69% on my first try at passing the exam. Much obliged. Many thanks for it.

    Dear Mike,

    Well understood with your scenario.

But kindly assist me to understand this.

As an auditor i was thinking in these lines. When a company (esp a subsidiary) is incurring a loss and it has a net liability position then it means it has issues with going concern. So practically as auditors we are supposed to obtain a letter of support from the parent company which states that they will ensure that debts will be cleared in case of liquidation.

Kindly highlight more on the above.

Furthermore, your scenario is like an oral comfort given but a letter of support is a written document used so cant it be used as an evidence for purposes of recovery?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Kim Smith,

Thank you for sharing this. According to the PDF, there haven’t been any adjustments made to the law exam’s specific English law.
I’ll take the Law Global Variant Exam in the middle of October 2023. Are there any updates that I need to be informed about?
I have primarily used the lectures and assessments from Opentuition. Do I need to evaluate any extra resources?

    Thanks in advance
