I chose equity. I justified as something like from a risk management perspective: Loan finance increases financial risk beyond target. Asset sale weakens financial safety and possibly strategic capability. Equity protects financial stability but dilutes control. Given Merceh’s exposure to industry disruption and the uncertainty of digital returns, financial resilience is critical.
Therefore, equity appears to be the most strategically aligned option, as it:
Maintains gearing discipline preserves liquidity, Shares risk with investors
    And Supports long-term transformation
    From a risk management perspective:

Therefore, equity appears to be the most strategically aligned option, as it:
Maintains gearing discipline preserves liquidity, shares risk with investors and Supports long-term transformation. In this context, increasing debt above target appears inconsistent with risk appetite, and exhausting retained earnings reduces flexibility. Equity financing, while dilutive, may best support long-term stability.
I feel like if the justification was credible it should be fine.

I forgot to add during the exam but came to me later on that the company directors ( since they wanted cash for their shares) might have overvalued company to get more money than the company was worth therefore valuation would have been necessary before the acquisition.

Same. I did not recommend the acquisition. I justified as overpayment, liquidity strain, possible cultural mismatch, talent loss if print staff leaves, shareholder backlash as the company may be overvalued, risk as the company doesn’t have an experience in owning a digital platform therefore risk of data breach, cyber security etc. I recommended looking for different option such as alliance or sth till Merceh doesn’t fully develop skills to properly manage a platform like that. I presented some benefits too like full control, possible sources of revenue from advertisers etc. I hope it makes sense 😀

I was doing some exams in the centre and some remotely (to save time and days of holidays :))
In my experience it was far better to do them remotely. It was quicker to write on my laptop (as I am used to it) and in the centre I always had this outdated big keyboard where you have to press strongly to write a letter :D. My advice is to use the earplugs as when everyone starts to write it is really annoying (I did two remote exams and the rest in the centre) so the silence at home was a bliss to concentrate. But this is my experience. I had first time passes at both remote and centre exams.
They will give you a scrap paper, you can go to the toilet after an hour as far as I remember. You can have a small bottler of water but you need to remove the label.

    Good luck 🙂

I am sitting my last exam next week 😀

I had the same questions about risks, Kams and sustainability.

Does anyone know if for AAA there is one exam or different versions? So far I had seen only that people got one.

I am using a big screen and have the same issue, the font is so small for the answers. Otherwise, all is good.

I would just revise notes from open tuition for TX and then study from the Kaplan Or BPP book for the advanced version since there are no advanced tax resources here. I think its good to know general rule and focus on practice as that’s how you memorise.

I had the same questions. I left the first section till the end.
I feel the same about cash flow and shares questions. I wrote general idea as was not 100% sure how to solve this. I hope they will find 50 points somewhere 😀

I believe is just a bit of luck which topics you will get. Also if you were doing Tax before attempting ATX I believe you have the idea more or less. I pasted the book to chat and ask him to shorten and highlight the main points. Otherwise the book is too long (I used Kaplan). After that I just did as many tests as I could.

I am awaiting for my results now. Let’s hope for pass.

Hello, I did Advanced Tax UK in March. It was not easy and not sure how it went. I answered most of the questions however let’s see if that was sufficient.

If everything goes well will do SBR in June. However have not signed up for this exam yet. Awaiting results first.

    Good luck everyone 🙂
