I’ve seen in the exam kits and answers that you do get marks for the computation. That’s why they specify in the exam kits to put in all your calculations as you will get marks for the calculations even if the figures are wrong.
As I understand it, this is no different to just a legacy and is deducted at the end of the death estate computation after deducting debts owed, outstanding taxes and funeral expenses.
