    sorry, missed a word
If FV of PPE of associate is higher on acquisition. Do you only account for additional depreciation in group SFP, or do you account for both the additional depreciation and the higher valuation?

Thank you. I suspect, as the word ‘issue’ tends to mean a problem in everyday vernacular, that I was thinking in that way. I appreciate the clarification. Thanks

I think the wording in the question (unit 8: analysing the financial impact of the six strategic options) is somewhat ambiguous.

The question wants you to calculate the DIFFERENCE to the Net Profit after each of the six changes, and not the new net profit.

Even with English as my first language I think its poorly worded, so I think it must be pretty unclear for some who have English as a 2nd or 3rd language. Hope this helps

Thanks John, yes it was a combination of your lectures on throughput accounting, along with a recently read Decision Tree ACCA article that got me thinking about it again. Thanks

I think From is the date they need to be charging VAT

By is when they need to have informed HMRC

If Candy registered late, VAT is due to be paid on the sales made from the date she should have been registered. ie its as if the sale price did include VAT

so the sales proceeds are 120%
    VAT is 20%

she pays 20/120, leaving 100/120 as her actual income

    HMRC
