5S for lean:
Systemise: arrange items to make it easy to use with some sort of system in place.
Sanitise: keep tidy and avoid unnecessary items. Minimal processes. Don’t over complicate.
Structurise: have order.
Standardise: be consistent (across the business, within depts/SBUs)
Self – discipline: do above daily
The aim of 5S is to create a workplace which is in order. Helps to create lean production which is about cutting waste and unnecessary activities.
