Thank you very much. When I get the transcript I would like to convert my total grade it into a US equivalent point. How do I know which information to use?

Yes, it is. Wes will give you a 4 year equivalence.

In the original question, finance/interest is mentioned only once in the SOPL extract. How did they get the idea that it was paid back? There’s no where in the question that mentions interest being paid.

nataliq wrote:I failed the exam, 49% I am so upset as I felt that I did my best to pass. Study hard, revised, practiced mock. In exam I kept the time management covered all questions and I made sure I was not repeating myself also kept the answers to the point, basically followed all the tips from examiners report.
Now I am so lost, don’t know where to start with my revision with resitting.<br>The most upsetting is I spent so much time preparing for exam, away from my children and not spending weekends with them, is nearly 3 am and I cannot stop crying. What do I have to do to pass? Please advice someone.

I felt like this after I failed it the first time (37). The second time, I took a more relaxed approach to it and focused on time management. I downloaded all 7 past sessions of the exam and attempted them once. I had 56 this time around.

I don’t think your ACCA record would show your BSc as although your exam grades impact on the degree, the degree itself does not impact on your ACCA qualification..

Students’ ACCA record and results are communicated to Oxford Brookes because they need to know whether you are still within your 10 years, have passed the required number of papers and also as your average mark is needed to calculate the degree classification.

However I can see no reason why ACCA would need your degree details as once you have been awarded the degree you would be sent your transcript and a certificate for the BSc.

Hello, I registered and paid for exemptions in 2012. I sat for the first exam in 2015. How much longer can I complete the OBU degree? Also, do you know anyone who has used this degree to get a post graduate degree (Msc, PhD)?

Yes, I watched the videos with the notes.

I am talking about Chapter 15, page 78, example 7 of the notes.

They calculated p2 as 20c(1.04)÷ 0.15-0.04 then, multiplied by 0.756.

But with the BPP MCQ, they didn’t multiply the dividend by the growth rate first. Please John kindly explain.

Hello Vee and John, not sure if I can contribute.
Companies like Amazon didn’t make profits nor even pay dividends for a while but experienced capital appreciation. I believe that this is part of the clientele effect. When I saw your question, I went straight for the DVM only and concluded that it might have been a typo, because it goes against the DVM. So I think that like John was saying, it depends on how the question was worded.

Is there a way you can get in touch, let us be study buddies? My exam is next month.

82% – was expecting a much lower mark as I ran out of time and rushed the written answers and skipped one 2 mark question. Pleasant surprise.

Hello, congratulations. What was your study strategy and time allocated for studying?

Your average when rounded seems to be 54. To get a 2.1 you would need an average over all six papers of minimum 58 and a report grade of an A. Given that the average report grade worldwide is C (so your likely outcome) would mean the average would need to be at least 60. Currently you are looking at a lower second regardless of report grade.

Thank you for your reply. I want to take a chance with FM, which is my last shot. If I get 75 in my FM, my total score could be 290, and average will be 58. I know that given my past performance, this seems quite idealistic, but I am willing to put in the work. Is this worth it?

As you presumably have already found out (from the home pages for each paper) we do have tests and mock exams for each paper. However for full CBE mock exams you need to use the ACCA website, which at the moment is working fine.

Thank you John, I have been able to access the website. However, I could find only assigned tests, past exams and specimen papers. I am looking for a worksheet that I can use to practice questions from my P & R kit. Please, can you forward any helpful links to me?

What do you mean your average score is 215- the Average score must by definition be less than 100.

I apologise. What I meant to say was, my scores for f5 to f8 add up to 215.

Hello everyone, my average scores from F5 to F8 is 215. Obviously, very low. However, I have been studying FM for 6 months now. I am aiming for a 2:1.

What do I need to do to achieve this?

    Passed, 72% 🙂

Congratulations to you on your high score.

Was this the only paper you wrote? How many hours will you say you invested to study and revise? How many past papers did you solve? How did make yourself familiar with the CBE? How did you handle time during the exam?
    Congratulations once again.

The cash budget was a give away marks question. Was straight forward, but just got a bit tedious and time consuming just for 10 marks. I adopted a three column approach for jan, feb and March, with income and expenses for the rows. The opening cash balance was £1m, first two months was cash flow positive, but in March it was negative by approx £137k due to the dividends and the £400k quarterly interests payment on the loan notes. For the comments part, I suggested either to borrow a loan in March to cover for the cash deficit or delay or reduce the payment of dividends, baring in mind that there will be a signalling effect to the shareholders.

For me, I think this will be a hit or miss, can’t really tell how well I scored overall due to how they give the marks for the theory questions.

Hi how did you manage your time and how were parts A and B for you?
